Joe Summers is simply an amazing force of nature. Playing Swing, Gypsy Jazz and Surf Music, he studied with Chet Atkins and Lenny Breau in his youth. His decades-long career includes collaborations and teaching seminars with players such as Herb Ellis and Tommy Tedesco, and countless gigs with many luminaries of the Jazz world. In recent years he's been noted as a brilliant interpreter of the Gypsy Jazz of Django Reinhart, and his current shows see him playing in a unique style that incorporates elements of this with his considerable facility in the Atkins/Breau fingersyle approach, as well as with his strong Blues and Swing roots. In the trio, he is backed up by Pete Bullard on Rhythm Guitar and Todd Perkins on Bass. The new album is in the works.
